As part of its five-day program, the 13th National Council on Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy (NCCIDE) paid a courtesy visit to the Gbong Gwom Jos, His Royal Majesty, Da Jacob Gyang Buba. The visit was held at the Palace in Jishe, Jos North.
The delegation was led by Engr. Nadungu Gagare, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy. The visit aimed to engage traditional leaders in Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda.
Representing the Minister, Engr. Nadungu Gagare extended warm greetings from the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy to the Gbong Gwom Jos, His Royal Majesty, Da Jacob Gyang Buba, and the people of Plateau State. He thanked the state government for hosting the 13th National Council on Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy.
Engr. Gagare highlighted the vital role of traditional institutions in promoting community cohesion, digital literacy, and grassroots participation in the innovation ecosystem. He emphasized that building a digitally empowered Nigeria requires trusted community leaders.
He also praised His Royal Majesty’s leadership and commitment to peace, unity, and sustainable progress. Engr. Gagare assured that the federal government remains committed to collaborating with traditional institutions and stakeholders to ensure all Nigerians benefit from digital opportunities.

The Gbong Gwom Jos, HRM Da Jacob Gyang Buba, welcomed delegates to Plateau State and praised the Federal Ministry and NCCIDE for hosting the conference. He said the presence of participants shows confidence in the state despite past challenges.
He stressed the importance of personal responsibility in promoting peace and unity, and urged everyone to preserve Nigeria’s history, culture, and traditions alongside technological advancement.
HRM appreciated the work of technocrats and scientists, urging them to guide policymakers and ensure innovations benefit all Nigerians. He concluded by wishing delegates a productive stay in Plateau State.


Delivering vote of thanks, Mr. Lamba Peter Bot thanked the Gbong Gwom Jos for the warm reception, saying the visit highlighted the value of partnering with traditional institutions to advance Nigeria’s digital transformation. He noted that the cultural insights shared would greatly support the Council’s work.
He also appreciated the Federal Ministry’s delegation, the Plateau State Commissioner, council members, partners, and the media for their support. He thanked the Plateau State Government and its people for their hospitality, expressing hope that the unity shown would strengthen ongoing efforts toward a vibrant digital economy.
