The Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria guarantees that any adult nigerian of voting age can vote and those the electable sufferage can be voted for. The constitution also talks about the tenure of the President being a single renewable tenure of four years.

Posters and discussions have emerged suggesting that Former President Goodluck Jonathan GCFR is likely to stage a political come-back ahead of the 2027 polls. Ever since the new filtered in, some people have become uncomfortable, especially with the idea that Former President Jonathan is likely to run for President in 2027 whether under the PDP or a coalition.

It is important to note that according public record Preisent Jonathan contested and won only the 2011 Presidential Elections. He was defeated in 2015 in when he contested under the platform of the PDP by the Late President Muhammadu Buhari.

Hence he has the right to be voted again if he chooses to run. It is only when he wins that we can debate in court whether or not he should complete a four-year terminal term, haven completed the final year of the first term of his Principal, the Late President Umar Musa Yar’adua.

My Lawyers can interpret for us…

Well, for me, my opinion is that no one should be denied his or her constitutional right to vote and be voted for. Let us settle the matter at the polls, let everyone test his or her popularity at the polls. No need to worry or fret. Let us meet at the polls, whoever our candidates will be across all the political parties should allow the people who v9te or refuse to come out and vote settle it, even though we know the Judiciary will have to test the victory of the winner.
