HRH Dr Selky Kile Torughedi, the Eyewei (V) of Azzuzuama and Amananawei of FCT, has been sponsoring the General Young Shall Grow Tubo Unity Football Tournament from its very first edition through his Foundation to the current 11th edition over the last 11 years. This edition came with an interesting twist and surprise when HRH Dr Selky Kile Torughedi was named as part of the squad of the Palace FC of Azzuzuama.

In his usual humility and humor, the Bayelsa Monarch came on the pitch kitted and gave a good display of football skills. HRH Dr Selky is a strong believer and an advocate of education, sports, youths and women empowerment which he has done for over two decades.

The 2024 and 11th Edition of the Tournament ended on Wednesday 1st January 2025, which saw United Stars FC of Korokorosei emerge winner at the Azuzuama Football stadium, Southern Ijaw LGA of Bayelsa State. They defeated Ike United FC of Ikebiri 2-0 to Win the 11th edition of the 2024 General Young Shall Grow Tubo Unity Cup.

Eagles Stars FC of Undewari won 3rd Place, defeating Paris FC of Korokorosei 1-0 in regulation time. Presenting the trophies to the winner, the Eyewei (V) of Azzuzuama and Amananawei of FCT His Royal Highness Dr Selky Kile Torughedi (a.k.a) General Young Shall Grow commended the youths for their peaceful disposition and spirit of sportsmanship throughout the tournament. He urged the youths to continue to present themselves as agents of peace and good deeds while remaining hopeful and expectant of good things coming in 2025.

HRH Dr Selky Kile Torughedi (Eyewei V) Amananawei of FCT (a.k.a) General Young Shall Grow was awarded Best Player of the Tournament, while other recognition such as Best Goalkeeper and Highest goal scorer of the tournament were given to those deserving of them.
