The United Nations International Youths Day 2025 is a day set aside to celebrate the resilience, diversity, strength and innovation of young people across the world, irrespective of race, region or religion.
The theme of International Youth Day (IYD) 2025, ‘Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond, highlights the unique role of youth in translating global ambitions into community-driven realities.
Alligning with these realities, the Eyewei (V) of Azzuzuama, Southern Ijaw Local Government of Bayelsa State, and the Ammananawei of FCT Abujs His Royal Highness Dr Selky Kile Torughedi has called on Nigerian Youths, particularly Niger Delta Youths to sustain their peaceful disposition across the country as their own mark of patriotism in the face of the current challenges in the country.
He hailed them for remaining peaceful and law abiding adding that their sacrifices will not go unrewarded. He called on government at all levels to continue to make frantic efforts to creats oppprtunites for young people showcase their gifts and talent whipe creating means of livelihood for them.
In a statement on Tuesday 12th August, 2025 in Yenagoa the Beyelsa State capital, the monarch hailed Nigerian youths for their patience, resilience and peaceful disposition in the face of harsh economic realities across the country. He called for delibrate efforts to mitigate the situation in favour of the teeming youths who habe demonstrated patriotism by remaining lawabiding despite the odds.
The philantropic monarch has been in the forefront of peaceful advocacy for Nigerian youths for almost two decades and has remained steadfast in insisting that young people, if given the enabling environment can become great tools for national transformation.
